THE KRISHEN JIT FUND | Disokong oleh ASTRO dan Yayasan Creador
Krishen Jit ASTRO Fund telah diperkenalkan oleh ASTRO, bersama dengan Five Arts Centre pada tahun 2006, sempena memperingati Dato’ Krishen Jit dan bertujuan memberi bantuan kewangan kepada para penggiat seni yang layak untuk menjalankan projek-projek seni.
Pada tahun 2019, kami mendapat sokongan baharu untuk Dana ini, SK Chambers. Nama Dana berubah menjadi Krishen Jit Fund, disokong oleh ASTRO dan SK Chambers. Pada tahun 2020, Yayasan Creador menggantikan SK Chambers sebagai penyokong. Kini, Dana ini dikenali sebagai Krishen Jit Fund yang disokong oleh ASTRO dan Yayasan Creador.
Salah satu objektif utama penubuhan Dana Krishen adalah untuk meraikan kreativiti asli masyarakat Malaysia dengan pelbagai cara dan alternatif, dalam semua bidang seni.
Hasil kerja praktikal beliau telah menyatukan pelbagai bidang yang berbeza, termasuk penghasilan projek-projek daripada pelbagai budaya, bahasa dan pengalaman. Melalui perundingan antara ilmuan akademik dan pengamal, tradisi dan budaya pop kontemporari, Hollywood dan Bollywood, arus utama dan yang terpinggirk, karya Krishen memartabatkan identiti Malaysia yang sentiasa berkembang, dan mendorong para pengamal dan penggiat bidang seni untuk merenungkan kehidupan dan masyarakat mereka.
Inilah semangat Krishen Jit Fund yang berfungsi sebagai pemangkin kepada kelangsungan dana ini, untuk mendorong karya kreatif di Malaysia. Pengumuman Dana ini diadakan pada 28 April 2006, di Utih... Celebrating Krishen. Ini merupakan acara peringatan pada ulang tahun pemergian beliau yang pertama. Dana ini dilancarkan oleh Astro semasa acara ini.
Panel Pemilihan untuk tahun 2023 adalah:
• Suhaimi bin Abdul Rahim – Pengarah, Bahagian Peningkatan Seni dan Budaya, Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian, Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni, dan Kebudayaan, Malaysia.
• Jolyn Gasper – Penolong Kanan Naib Presiden. Sustainability, Astro.
• Maha Subramaniam – Naib Presiden, Yayasan Creador.
• Leow Puay Tin – Profesor Madya, Sekolah Seni, Universiti Sunway.
• Ravi Navaratnam – Ahli, Five Arts Centre.
Dana ini diurus dan dikelola oleh Five Arts Centre. Geran diberikan untuk latihan, bengkel, penempatan praktikal atau residensi, produksi eksperimen, penulisan, atau penciptaan karya baharu dalam muzik, tarian, teater, filem, seni visual atau seni pertunjukan.
Dari tahun 2006 hingga 2022, Krishen Jit Fund telah memberikan sejumlah 84 geran dengan jumlah RM626,000.
